ADVANCED Scam Protection Guide for ACNH [WATCH BEFORE TRADING ONLINE]

In this video, I show you the second installment of the anti-scam series for Animal Crossing New Horizons. I will cover topics such as trade control, advanced scam protection, and item-specific scams! WATCH THIS BEFORE GOING ONLINE TO TRADE. Scam Protection Part I: /watch/ksnd5XsmwJNmd 0:00 - Timestamps 0:18 - Trade Control 1:58 - Advanced Scam Protection 3:38 - Fake Art Scams 4:59 - Flower Scam 6:07 - Villager scam Section 1 - Trade Control Trade Control is holding the power to stop the trade at any given moment. This means you CANNOT let the game save before getting your payment. If the game saves after you dropped your payment but have yet to receive yours, then that is surrendering trade control. No matter how genuine someone sounds, NEVER give this up. Section 2 - Advanced Scam Protection For Nookazon, look at the sellers with a mass amount of reviews as that indicates they constantly trade, lowering the chance of scamming. Sure, they could have used alt accounts, but someone going out of their way to make 100's of alts just to scam in Animal Crossing would be nearly non-existent. For ACNH Discord, look at the people with coloured roles or mentions of their names. This means they have been in the server before and are most invested to be in there. This means they are less likely to scam. Instead of closing the game, you can press the power button which will put your switch to sleep, causing a communication error. The next part, is to have a friend come with you in trades, ESPECIALLY ones that require two trips. This will allow the transaction to happen in one trip, which means you do not have to surrender trade control. Your friend can also keep their inventory open, preventing the host from kicking you. Section 3 - Fake Statue Scams Some people will try to pass off fake art after marketing real art. The ONLY way to tell while the trade is still happening is to try to sell it to Timmy and Tommy. If it is fake, then they will not accept it. If it is real, then they will give you a price. Even with item confirmation, this is your final defense. If they try to leave or kick you out, instantly close the game. Section 4 - Fake Flower Scams This is the most annoying scam, as it is an inconvenient half-scam. Since you cannot retrieve the flowers once you have planted them (not having best friend), you will have to struggle to get paid if the seller chooses to give a cheaper alternative or an excuse. These scammers are the worst because they gaslight you into accepting a lower price, and is technically not bannable. Section 5 - Villager Trading This is by far the most controversial part of Animal Crossing trading. This is because getting villagers requires multiple steps to actually trade, each could cause a scam to happen. Make sure to confirm that the other person has the villager first. Do it with pics and the person saying his discord tag while the villager is in boxes. It's also good to have a friend come with you so they can prevent yourself from getting kicked.
