@the8star3 years ago most of the kpop fans already know about slave contracts, mistreatment of idols, crazy restrictions, diets, beauty standards. the only thing that we can do as fans is support them not their company 1294

@caneth94193 years ago True tho, people should be more educated about this topic, because I am a BTS army and a blink too but people are literally obsessed with this 😶😶😶😶😶💜💜 1251

@iamlazy48863 years ago Slave contracts are so destructive...once Suga told how he was told to lose his weight even tho he was underweight...
ALSO There is a kpop idol named HWASA
She is so talented and beautiful in her own way but still many people hated her and still do so because acc to them she's ugly but trust me she's the sexiest woman in her own standards and she still stands strong after going through all this shit
I'm gald you made this video...lots of support

@HIMJAAGGARWAL3 years ago Along with this side of the Kpop Music Industry, people also need to understand, "Not Everybody is supposed to like or be obsessed with anything relating to Kpop", also we don't hate them either, the thing is its not in our interest. Thus Kindly stop being offended when someone comes and say we don't like or understand KPop. :))
Also, this slave contract thing is shocking.🤯
PS: Be kind to yourself and me after this comment.🤞🏻

@berlin54033 years ago I can see there are millions of teen ( particularly girls ) are mad obsessed with k pop. Imagine these kids mind .. they must be thinking about how perfect looking their idols are and they sub consciously compare themselves with idols ( with unattainable beauty standard ) ... 451

@mahakrajawat59403 years ago People are saying that K-pop fans are just teen girls who are obsessed with the idols.... stop this sh!t already!!
We support our idol's coz of their songs and message behind them
And talking about things in this video...we already know this....
And as a fan we can only support them and make them feel safe and accepted...
About the agencies we can't do anything coz the Korean fans are not supporting the idol's bcoz of their mentality but as an International fan, we try our best to show them love

@lousflwr7553 years ago I completely agree with each and every aspect of this video even though I don't like bts or k-pop. There are many people in Hollywood too who are treated the same way, especially women. Can't say much about bts since it's a boy band, but as a woman, for blackpink, it's pretty obvious they go through a lot of sh t ... 228

@solarkhag31253 years ago Today's teenager's unhealthy obsession with kpop concerns me. You need to understand that you have a life outside of your fav kpop group. />I was introduced to kpop wayyy before most of the audiences, I had been a constant admirer of groups like exo/SHINee/big bang/BTS since 2014/15, when kpop was not mainstream. But today I can't read a YouTube comment without 13 year olds constantly mentioning their oppas and unnies which is not only frustrating but annoying as well and this has slowly crippled my fascination towards kpop industry in general.
Like, I get it, they are good but do you have to mention them everywhere?
Currently I only follow Taehyung (V), because I owe him a lot as he helped me overcome the grief of my grandma's death. I am solely in slight touch with the industry due to him. Otherwise the toxicity of the kpop fans has passed way beyond my temper.

@peachybee2563 years ago These beauty standards are everywhere Bollywood, Hollywood, and in kpop industry and we can't do anything expect supporting our idols they need support that's really true they don't show their feelings they put smile on face if we love them then we should support them and its the only thing we can do! ... 34

@yoongistangerine1763 years ago I'm into k-pop since 2019 and honestly I think it's such a horrible industry like the efforts trainees put up and Even after doing all those things there're the groups which didn't even make it and if a group got famous , getting the fame they truly deserves then there comes the hate from antis. Many k-pop idols deal with mental issues and stuff , I just wish company can priortize their mental health more. ... 56

@gurmankaur41673 years ago BTS's concept is loveyourself and lover others some people are just a BTS fan for their looks but actually if you listen to their songs and understand the lyrics for ex life goes on by BTS is such a good song it shows no matter how hard is life it must go on BTS have really got me out of depression ... 26
  • @
@shubhikaushik52603 years ago When I was into k-pop I feel very insecure about my looks and one of my friends fantasize herself as jungkook girlfriend (I Don't know that happens with everyone or not but by watching reel I know so many people fantasize themselves with BTS and that's not good) ... 67
  • @
@heeyaa323 years ago Okay so people need to know this video is not against k-pop, BTS or any other group. This is basically about the k-pop culture and their struggle. Sadly this is the reality but this is not the case with every idol group.. though one thing which is 100 percent true is Korea's obsession with beauty and their hypothetical "beauty standards" which is honestly sickening!! I hope idols could be more free and feel confident 🥺 ... 37
  • @
@the8star3 years ago honestly BTS is not inside the kpop genre anymore . the members themselves have said that they want to be known as BTS and are not limited to kpop. also BTS makes their own music and have their own artistic freedom so most of these k industry stereotype is not applicable for BTS. I'm not defending K-pop, im not even a kpop fan , I only stan BTS and casual listen kpop but somethings definitely need to change. also US music industry is trashier than K-pop industry. The only difference is nobody opens up about it, nobody speaks up. Someone need to make a video on HOW TRASH US MUSIC INDUSTRY IS!! and how labels manipulating the industry for their profit ... 146

@priyadangle2 years ago thank you for touching on this subject this indeed is a tough topic to be talking about considering how people are so fascinated with their lifestyle and what not, like its said durr see sab acha lagta hai jab pass aayenge tab uski asliyaat dekhayi deti hai.
That is true with Kpop industry's stars, we are just so blown away with their popularity and their stardom that we forgot to consider their personal life and matters at times. so brave of you.

@dishadas1923 years ago This is so sad I didn't know this side of k pop It feels really bad 🥺 I am a bts army 💜💜and it feels really good life from outside but inside it's very toxic😭 19

@Shahla___.202 years ago I'm a kpop fan but trust me some are so toxic.. I can't explain. There's my friend and she teased her another army frnd's by saying that jk is mine and then the first one slapper her just b'coz she said jk's mine.
Pls guys try to understand.. Good music and your idol doesn't mean that you have to get offended if someone doesn't like it. Or you'll misbehave anyone who says bad about your idol or fvrt grp yeah they shouldn't but u should keep patience..
Everyone knows that if their idols are famous then there will be haters too.
    PLS. KEEP PATIENCE... ✨

@ritu14613 years ago Actually I was expecting more from you...as you make such critical and good commentary videos...all of what you said. We have heard it dozens of time. I guess we need to understand other dynamics too. As you see most of the celebrities live this life. Striving for perfection, trying to look good, the manipulation by labels and exploitation of artists (see videos of Sonu Nigam, the case of Micheal Jackson and sony, Megan thee stallion's label feud, ) there are alot to cover than just some generalising points about k-pop.
Wish you would get more into these too

@sampritinag41202 years ago The new generation's obsession with kpop is just so weird . I have been a bts army for almost 3 years ( yes I got to know about kpop late ,and I am glad that I was exposed to it when I was a pretty mature 16-17 years old) . It was still manageable at that time but now it's getting out of hands. I see everywhere all those 13-14 years old girls who just know some songs and likes their whitewashed pictures . Which sets a horrible beauty standard. And they have to bring there fav kpop grp everywhere and it's really annoying. Even one girl I know who is my age is a baby army and she's just so obsessed with bts. She's not in my social media our mutual friends say that how irritating she is . She is posting about them literally 24/7 . Everyone is so annoyed by her. These people often forget that there's a life outside it . I feel embarrassed becoz people tend to stereotype kpop fans becoz of some obsessed chicks. And I have been judged so many times whenever someone heard that I'm a bts army😒 ... 18

@aiqanshahzad69972 years ago Hiring at a young age is actually because they have to build the muscle memory. It doesn't happen only in kpop you train athletes at a young age as well. Also kpop stars are highly disciplined because they train like that, that is what makes kpop kpop. They read the contracts and know what they are signing for. The talk should be about how people should put themselves first and not lose their selves in order to gain success. What happened to sulgi is heartbreaking but kpop stars weren't the ones who bullied her it was by shit fans. ... 7
  • @
@stylishnoona29432 years ago Sulli, jeonghyun😭😭😭😭😭😭 I miss you guys. Sulli you were are strong woman. I just want her death doesn't go to waste. But the fact which you said at the end is correct that government doesn't interfere because these companies bring them money like a huge amount of money and even biggest starts like BTS aren't independent enough to take their own decisions to ap soch hi skte hn ki chote companies aur small groups can't do anything. Big hit was still a great company under pd nim(Si hyuk) but cases from other companies come up where they bully their idols, even the staff does that. And rumours are that many trainees suicide but that doesn't come out.
The disgust reality of this shitty world is whoever will come out to speak and whoever speaks against those who have hell amout of money will die. Because they are the gods on earth. They rule all.

@saumyasikha47213 years ago I agree with your opinion but their are many agencies who don't mistreat but have certain rules and regulations which should be followed unlike bollywood they go for real talent and they would not want their company loss to be a idol u should maintain your body because in kpop whether it's girl group or boy group it is necessary to learn dance and vocals both and it's not like company is always at fault like bighit never mistreats bts and other idols and pnation and rbw these are good companies ... 1
  • @
@namu43803 years ago K pop does have a dark/toxic side like any other industry . But most of the things have changed now .
1 . Like "slave contract " has been finally banned by the S.K govt., they existed for a long time . Nowadays , if any idol wants to leave the group the group they can , the company can't deny it . For example , Woojin left Stray Kids { some people say he left because of his scandal ( in which he was proven innocent through the police investigation ) but that is not the case , JYP (his company )clearly stated he left the group and the company willingly due to his personal reasons and have now become a soloist .
Dating of the idols : There was a time when idols used to get a lot hate from people for dating someone . Like when dating of Baekhyun and Taeyeon was revealed by Dispatch (media ) both the idols got severe hate especially Taeyeon and eventually they broke up . Same goes for Kai and Jennie . Hyuna and Dawn were kicked out of their company for dating each other without any warning despite being the most popular members of their respective groups (they belong to same company called "Cube ent " ) now both of them are soloist under PSY company and are still dating . I think today some fans have normalised dating of idols like they have started adoring Hyuna and Dawn , they were super supportive when Momo from Twice and Heechul from Super Junior started dating , they were happy when Jihyo and Kang Daniel were dating , they are happy that Joy from Red Velvet is dating soloist Crush , Exols were supportive when Chen revealed that his girlfriend is pregnant and they are going to marry soon (he has a daughter now ) and also shut down the toxic Exols who were hating Chen ..................I do know some so called fans are still dillusional and don't want their idols to date some other but trust me scenarios have changed even if its tiny .
Idols do interact with each other . Even before and till today idols do interact with each other ....for example Yeonjun from TXT teasing Wooyoung from ATEEZ BUT interaction between different gender idols still creates fuss but then Again Sana from Twice did appeared in the Vlive of Bang Chan from Stray Kids .
Idols and fans have also started accepting the natural skin color of idols . Like Hwasa , Jessi , Hyolyn proudly appear in public with their natural tan skin . BTS uses the make up that compliments their natural skin color .
These were the problems in k pop which are having a process of change and following are the thing that exist in k pop and fans are trying to change it too :
1.Body shaming (skin shaming like Lisa , Rosè , Sunmi , were attacked for being too skinny and Hwasa , Jihyo , Lia , Jisoo were attacked for being overweight according to Korean Beauty Standards .
    Seaxualizing idols
    Cultural Appropriation
False scandals (some haters make tumors and accuse idols of bullying which they never did eg, Woojin from Stray Kids )
Misogyny (often in k pop female idols face this like if a scandal happens female idols are almost cancelled whereas male idols are forgiven even though they get hate too , when female idols are close to 30 they are considered old and said to retire like they did to Irene of Red Velvet and Brave Girls's members etc )
And there are many other problems too but all these problems do exist in every other industry so some haters telling us to quit listening to k pop because of this is just so hypocritical because they are also in some industry which do have such problems and we should stand against the problems not against the artist .
    ...

@diya_.27last year Saddest thing of kpop after harsh contract of entertainments is that there are more toxic stans of kpop rather than actual logical loving fans 😔who sees their singing and stage presence 🎤rather than just becoming obsessed with a single idol or group. I am also part of a fandom which is titled as most toxic fandom 😟but people need to know that everyone is not a stan😒 who just start arguing with someone who don't like kpop. {I am just a fan. 🖤💗} ...
