I recently did a 12 hour live stream on Twitch to mark my two year anniversary and decided to do some turning on the spring pole lathe. I used a piece of cedar and made a small dish with the tools, knowledge (which is limited!) and the pedal lathe I had.
The hooked tool you see in the photo is a very old style of tool that has been used in green woodturning for hundreds (if not a thousand) years. I find it very hard to sharpen but I'm hoping in the future I can get more used to it.
I know I need a lot more practice with this style of turning and I will improve in the future and perhaps make a full lathe when I have the room. I'm currently still using my Spring Pole Bench Top Lathe I made a couple of years ago.
Thank you for viewing, check out the various links below if you'd like to see what else I get up to.
